I mean, I think, could you give me a few other options?

Because that option really just doesn't resonate with me.

 

Do you have a longer list that I could just sort of pick which job description I would like?

 

Are you going to let someone else get the job description that God designed specifically for you?

It's like I will follow God to this point,

but anything beyond this point is extreme.

 

But who came up with that?

Doesn't God own you?

Don't you realize that he purchased your body?

 

You belong to Jesus christ.

You've submitted your life to him; He can do with you what he wishes.

 

So who are you?

To give your life to Jesus Christ and then define the terms of how He will use your life?

 

Do you have a limit to your obedience?

Because if you have a limit to your obedience, something's wrong with your Christianity.

We really like to be known.

And we really like the applause.

 

Let's just admit it, and then let's answer the question.

Are we willing to forgo that?

Am I willing to forgo the comforts of life?

 

If any of you Americans in here you know the value we put on the comforts of life.

God wouldn't actually ask me to forgo those, would He?

That's not right!

 

"Are you willing?" is the question.

It doesn't mean He will ask you to just be miserable.

The question is, "Are you willing to go where there aren't comforts?"

 

You know there's other places in this world, if you haven't traveled much, you'll find it out, that aren't like America.

 

You know East Timor, Afghanistan, Iraq, Liberia,

You know, there are some rough places out there!

Liberia doesn't even have electricity!

paved roads! And they need Jesus Christ.

 

Are you willing to give up the comforts of life for your King?

 

By the way, life on earth is very short.

Are you willing to give up a short season of your existence to serve your King well no matter what the cost?

 

Am I willing to go anywhere, no matter the danger or darkness?

Anywhere?

 

'Anywhere' is the question.

Not just to the easy spots!

Anywhere! For King and Kingdom!

 

Because if you say "No", who do you expect...

to say "Yes"?

 

▲Am I willing to let go my reputation?

You know when you serve Jesus Christ,

You become the misunderstood.

 

 

It doesn't happen always immediately, but sometimes it does.

Where people start looking at you like, "what in the world's wrong with you?"

They start passing little rumors about you, too.

All sorts of little tales can begin to float through the air or over the Internet.

 

You stand for something, and you're immediately misunderstood,

despised, sometimes hated would be a good word to describe it.

 

Jesus was described as a "worm and no man" in Psalm 22:6.

 

Are you willing to be a worm and no man in this generation?

Am I willing to die young for the sake of Christ?

 

Am I willing to live lonely among the heathen?

Am I willing to suffer in my body?

 

Am I willing to be an etcetera, and insignificant,

a nobody for the glory of Jesus Christ?

 

Do you require notoriety?

Are you willing to serve unnoticed?

I need to be noticed!

Doesn't God want us to be famous?

So that He can make a name for Himself?

If I increase, maybe He can increase that way!"

 

No actually the pattern for Him increasing is you decreasing.

That's the great secret for increase in the Kingdom of Heaven.

I want you to realize what we're defining here isn't extreme Christianity- It's Christianity.

 

It's the way it's always been.

Because men and women all throughout history have gambled to get gold. But which of us is willing to gamble our lives and put it all on the line to get more God?

Python is the largest snake in the world, it’s a powerful (listen up) it’s a powerful constricting snake that literally chokes the breath out of its victims. You’ve got to listen to me give me your attention and listen.

 

In Acts 16th chapter the Bible said that Paul and Silas were on a divine assignment. And as they were on their way to the temple to pray the Bible said that there was a woman who was demon possessed with an evil spirit. And the scripture gave the name of the spirit and in Act 16 it said she has <the spirit of Python>. It’s the only time in the book of Acts that the name of the demon is given. There must be something God is trying to give us an insight into, He said it’s a spirit of Python.

 

Python is not just another snake. You know, snakes in the Bible represent demon's spirits. Jesus said in Luke 10 that we would trend on serpents. The Bible in the book of Genesis tells us that Lucifer slither into the Garden of Eden with the body of serpent. In the book of revelation the Bible calls Satan, “that old serpent”, the devil. That there must be a reason why it was not a spirit of cobra or a spirit of rattle snake but it was a spirit of Python.

 

This story in Acts 16 is centered around midnight and midnight is always a picture in the scripture as the end time, the nearness of the coming of the Lord. And at midnight the Bible said, “The cry was made, behold the bridegroom cometh. Go out to meet Him.” So God was trying to get you to understand as the midnight generation, the generation that is living, which will see the coming of the Lord. That the predominant spirit that will come against you would be the spirit of Python. And when He wanted you to understand how Python would try to destroy your life, He wanted to have this mental picture in your mind on how a Python kills his victims.

 

Python is a snake that is after one thing. He doesn't kill his victims by injecting poison like the rattle snake or cobra but the way the Python kills his victims is by coiling himself around them and beginning to squeeze and constrict and choke the very breath out of his victim. You see Python is after one thing. The spirit of Python is after breath.

 

 

 

▶Breath in the Bible represents the spirit of God. Jesus in John chapter 20 breathes on them. And said receive ye the Holy Ghost. In the book of Acts the Holy Spirit came like a mighty rushing wind. Breathe, air, in the Bible represents the spirit, the breath, the life of God and Python comes to choke the life of God out of you. He doesn’t kill his victim instantly but he just begins suddenly, gradually, slowly to choke the liberty out.

 

At one time some of you were on fire for God, at one time you would come to church and you would raise your hands and praise Him. But when Python begins to get a hold of you, he begins to squeeze and choke the life out of your praise. Choke the breath out of your walk with God. Choke the breath!

 

It doesn’t happen overnight, at first you can still get your hands up, you can compromise, you can play with sin and at first nothing happens but little by little Python begins to constrict and begins to choke and begins to leave you. Until finally they said the way of the Python kills his victim is every time the victim exhales. He tightens just a little bit more and a little bit more until finally you can’t catch your breath. It’s like you’ll get spiritual asthma. You can get your hands up in church. You can’t breathe spiritually. That’s the operation of the spirit of Python.

▶Kurt Cobain had everything. He was married to movie star wife Courtney Love. He had a beautiful 8 year old daughter. He had an incredible mansion in Seattle, Washington. He had sold millions of records. He starts a whole youth movement in America, The Grunge Move. But little by little even though he had everything he was empty inside and Python begins to entangle him. Not only did he have all of the things I had mention but he also had the alcohol problem and he also had a drug problem. Because there is pleasure in sin for season but then Python slowly, it doesn’t happen overnight, but little by little he begins to put the squeeze and starts to choke and suddenly you can’t get free like you could get free. At one time you could put it down but suddenly you can’t just break loose. He was swept into a world of hopelessness and even though he had everything in his mansion in Seattle, one night, in a drunken stoup and high on drugs, he begins to pen his own suicide note. He didn’t feel like life was worth living anymore.

It was four days later that an electrician went to the mansion of Kurt Cobain and found his body. He left a suicide note. They found beside his body a bottle of liquor. Drugs were in his body. His blank brains(blood) were splattered on the wall. Kurt Cobain wrote this words and I want to read this to you. It’s the actual death letter that he pen to his wife and his 8 year old daughter.

 

"All the warnings of punk rock 101 courses over the year of my first introduction have proven to be very true. For example, when we are back stage and the lights go out and the manic roar of crowd begins, it doesn’t affect me in the way it used to. The fact is I can’t fool anyone anymore, it simply it unfair to you or me. The worst crime I can think off would be to reap the people of by faking and pretending."

 

Listen, this is the man that the world tells you, if you get what he’s got, you’d be happy and listen to this that he said in his death note.

▶First they’ll get entangled. What I’m speaking right now, if we could see spiritually, some of you who at one time were on fire for God. You were full of anointing. You were full of the power. You couldn’t wait to get to church and praise God. But little by little Python has begun to choke the anointing, the breath, and the life of God out of you. And if we could hear you spiritually, (catching breath) that’s how you came to this convention. And the Bible said that the later in would be worse than the beginning.

Tupac had it all. Tupac had the Rollsroice. Tupac had the women. Tupac had everything but one bullet took it away. If Tupac had come back he would sing to you about the tagged life. If Tupac could come back he would talk to you about a gang or selling dope. He would tell that dope dealer to go back to hell where he came from. He would tell you young ladies that losing your virginity isn’t worth being popular.

 

About a year ago my wife and I received a call from Mrs. Evander Holyfield. She’s been watching our television program. She invited us to her mansion in Atlanta to have lunch. And what I’m about to tell you, a lot of people don’t know but it’s the truth. Just hours before Tupac was shot, and he would die three days later, he was shot in a drop-by shooting. Tupac had gone to Las Vegas to see Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield’s fight. And just hours before he was shot, Evander Holyfield felt to talk to Tupac in a private meeting about his soul. Evander said and he said, “Tupac, you know what’s right you know you’re living wrong. You know, Jesus has made a difference in my life. And you need to give your life to the Lord. And Tupac said, “One day but not right know. I’m having too much fun. I got my whole life ahead of me. I know what’s right but not right now. I want to party and young. I want to have a good time. One day, I’m going to get back to church.

 

 

 

The Python had already plan. Can you hear in that intensive care unit in Las Vegas as the breathing machine is going up and down, up and down. Finally, Python takes his last squeeze in Tupac the super star. (Catching last breath) he’s gone. If he could come back, I wonder what he would say.

▶Aaliya, according to her own words on her website, developed her talent in the house of God. She began to sing at an early age, the songs of the church. You say it couldn’t happen to me what is happening to them. It already is, and some of it you don’t even know it. You’re already entangled and stocked. You say I can’t control it; the Python is stronger that you are. She had made a movie. Her carrier was on tract. She had sold a million copy of her record. She had gone to the Bahamas to make a brand new video for her new release. But little did she know she would die 22 years of age. Do you understand that her movie even though she’s dead is the No. 1 movie in America as I stand in this platform right now? You guy knows I’m telling you the truth. Prophetically it was named, she didn't know what she was shooting in, that the name of the movie would be a prophecy over her life, "Aaliya Queen of the Dammed”.

▶You know this songs, don’t act the like you’re the holiest young people I’ve ever seen. You know you know this song. Don’t make me look like a fool up here. You know these songs. How many of you know these songs. Now listen, do you understand that nobody just start smoking dope? Pythons after your breathe and some of you are dumb enough to take a cancer stick called the cigarette. See it starts gradually. It’s just a little thing, just a little thing. It’s just a little dirty weed that you put in your mouth. Listen if God wanted you to smoke, He’d put a chimney at the top of your head. And anyhow listen! Really, the cigarettes smoking you suck.

 

Three hundred and forty thousand people died of cancer last year. Most of those got that cancer from smoking cigarettes. You listen to me right now and you’ve got to have that fit because this is a long service. And you pack your cigarettes up under some suitcase where your youth leader couldn’t find them and you’re having nicotine fit. I’m here to get in your face tonight. I’m here to tell you that it won’t be cool when you’re laying in an intensive care with your hair out because you’re having or taking a therapy dying of cancer. Pythons after your breathe.

 

You understand, that every time you smoke a cigarette they say that it takes 3 minutes of your life. So it takes you three minutes to smoke it and on the other minute of your life span you just lost three minutes. The average smoker loses fifteen years of their life. And then after you smoke a little cigarette then you start smoking a Jane. It’s just the party I want to fit in. I just want to know what it’s like to get high. Let me tell you what marijuana does that nobody tells you about. Marijuana is a dangerous drug. I know we white washed it. I know we had a president that did it in hell but still a dangerous drug. Listen to me man, let me preach. You know that the latest scientific studies they have done on marijuana? They said that for every joint you smoke it is the equivalent of two packs cigarette. That a joint one joint has ten times the cancer producing agent of a cigarette, ten times.

 

 

Marihuana causes cerebral brain damage. That’s obvious by the way these guys have acted up here tonight. Not only that, it means literally they have proven that when you smoke marijuana it kills brain cells and some of you need all the brain cells you can get. You don’t need to be losing any.

 

This is interesting. In the University of Colorado they just finished the study. They got a bunch of pot heads together and they gave them dope every day for 30 days and they let them get high. At the end of that thirty days without telling the pot smokers they took TAC, which is the high producing element in marijuana. They took it out. The chemical that produces the high feeling, they took out of the marijuana. And yet when the guys starts to smoke in the pot they got just as high as they did before. And they concluded the study by saying; it is possible that when you believe in the drug that your taking you can get something, this is medical doctors, you can get something beside a chemically induced high. When I read that I thought about the fact that the Bible calls, sorcery and witchcraft in the Greek in the book of revelation. It’s the same word "Pharmadechiah” from which we get the word pharmacy or drug usage. Could it be anytime you healed your mind to a drug that you can give yourself over to a demonic state that Satan can slip a demons spirit around you that begins to bind you outwardly but eventually gets inside of you so that you cannot free yourself from it. Nobody takes cocaine without first smoking dope. It all starts with a little compromise and first they are entangled and after they are entangled they overcome. And the later end is worse than the beginning.

▶We live in a pornographic world. America is smiting with mud. Our generation is being submerged in a hellish tide of impurity. I want you to listen to me. If you look at pornography, you are getting a blood transfusion from hell. The Bible said in Matthew chapter 6 that the eye is the lamp of the body. In other words if your eye is pure it fills the body with light, but if your eye is dark and it filled with evil and filth, then it fills your body with darkness.

 

You need to understand something about yourself, you are a visual being. Your eye takes in 4 million bytes of information per second at the speed of 187000 miles per second. Blows it up in to 3D full color and gives motion to it. Your mind automatically converts words into pictures. (Watch this, red apple. You all just saw one did you? Black dog, white horse.) You know why? because you’re a visual being and you mind automatically converts what you see in the picture. That’s why when Satan wants to destroy somebody, the first thing he has to do is get not their body but their mind. And if he can get a grip on your mind to pornography and I just want to preach man and tell you it’s not just forn magazine there something called musical pornography that is just as bad. And it will entangle you and after it entangles you it will overcome you. And the later in, it would be worse than the beginning.

 

▶I want to tell you something as I was preparing for this message. I’ll rise up with the Lord and I said God can I let them do that on the platform, because these are church kids I’ll be preaching to, then the Lord spoke to me as clear I’ve ever heard Him. He said, “Son you listen, you listen on what about I’m about to tell the young people, the Lord told me to tell you that the devil targets church kids more than any other kids”.

 

 

 

He doesn’t bother you unless you’re bothering him. The way that Python operates is he tries to entangle you in wrong relationships. You can be on fire for God, you can have a calling or an anointing in your life but if you start to get wrap up in the wrong relationship, see I don’t believe that you can just date anybody. I don’t believe in dating around. Wait a minute stop screaming, listen. You can’t just date around, because dating around leads to sleeping around. The young lady says, “But you don't understand. If I don’t fool around…” Please understand one thing cause to another, once he puts his hands on your knee it’s easier to proceed further, ones you allow him to begin to touch parts of you, it’s easier to perceive further, one thing cause for another.

She doesn’t know how prophetic that picture is.

And young people set and listen to that. See you need to understand something. Your life will always move in the direction of the dominant images you allowed to reside in your mind. Please listen to me. If you allow, see the Bible said that Lot pitched his tent towards the city of sin. He just started looking in that direction the next time you read about him he’s outside the gate of Sodom. The next time you read about him he is inside and bound up because your lives will always begin to move in the direction of the dominant images you allowed to reside in your mind.

 

▶Some of you are sitting out there, listen to me right now and some of you precious young ladies do all of these kids(performers on the stage) are from my church. I love them dearly. And some of you are under such pressure sexually. That guy has told you that if you don’t put out he doesn’t want you anymore. And the devil is lying to some of you ladies saying, if you want to be popular he will love you if you... Now let me tell you what he’s going to do after he uses you up. He is going to go and he is going to set in the locker room and he is going to tell all his friends what you’ve been doing. And then he’s going to throw you aside and use somebody else when he gets a chance.

 

This is a picture that hell doesn’t want you to see. Hell doesn’t want you to see, teen pregnancy. Hell doesn’t want you to see yourself in an abortion clinic cutting the baby in pieces. Some of you guys are sitting out there and your Pentecostal playboys, Pentecostal gigolos. While I’m standing up here on this platform you’ve got a condom in your wallet right now. Just copping the crowd loud and hoping you’ll get lucky. I’ve come to deal with the spirit. I’ve come to run it off. I’ve come to untie you. I’ve come to loose you. I’ve come in Jesus name to see you get free.

 

Listen to me, young people, love gives you a wedding. Lust gives you a condom. Little by little he wants you to give up your virtue, your character, your integrity, your name, your virginity.

 

▶I want to conclude this message now by telling you what happen to Paul and Silas, because you don’t have to stay bound. Some of you as I preach are as though you now that there is life of God is being choked out of you. Paul and Silas the Bible said, because of the Python spirit were put in a prison. Chains were put on their hands. That’s were Python takes you in the bondage. They couldn’t get free. They couldn’t get their hands loose. They couldn’t get their body free and some of you are there as I speak. The Bible said that the devil made a mistake. You know the devil did make a mistake when he bit Paul and Silas. He did make a mistake when he chain Paul and Silas. He made a mistake when he put Paul and Silas in the same cell. Because if any two believers ever get together, something can happen, I don’t care how bound.

 

That’s why the devil messed up when he let you come to interface. There are enough of us in here to run every evil spirit out to untie your mind and loose your body. Somebody praise Him in this town. Oh Hallelujah.

 

▶They were snake bitten in the wilderness in the book of Exodus. Snake bitten, dying from an attack from serpents and the Bible said, God told Moses, “Raise up a brass pole and put a serpent on the breast pole. Now what God may is this, the problem was snakes. But God said the problem was the solution. So if they will look on that serpent on that snake, if they were bitten by the snake, when they look the poison in them will die and they will live.

 

I can see a mother running to her tent and she leaves her baby up into her Hara. There’s a little snake that has bitten, a deadly snake bit her baby and the babies I barely bitten he’s swelling quickly. She runs out the tent. She turns and just let the baby face the serpent on the brass pole and instantly the poison stopped.

 

You the young people, the Lord tell me today that the problem is the solution. In other words, if 'the flesh is what gets you into trouble the flesh is what’s going to get you out. If passion in the wrong area what’s what got you in trouble, passion for God is what’s going to get you out. If given your body to the devil got you into trouble, give your body to God, He’s going to let you out. Jesus would look back in his life time and he would say 'as Moses lifted up the serpent, in the wilderness so I will be lifted up.' And if the snake has some if they look on me, if they’ll see my sacrifice, I'll heal them. I’ll loose some. I’ll set them free. He paid the price, He made the sacrifice so that you can be free. Python is going to break and I’m closing my sermon now but listen.

 

Do you know what the Bible said, Paul and Silas did, they song praises at midnight. And as they sung praises at midnight, God send an earthquake. And here the point I want to get to, the next morning they went back into the prison. After God set them free and they sat down, and the jailer came and said why you are back God has set you free. And they made this powerful statement, they said, “You did not put us in here privately and where not going to leave this house privately”. Wait just one moment, you know that Python has broken off your life. When you are willing, see Paul and Silas was saying, we want the same people who saw us go in, come out, see us come out, we want the same people who watched us when we were once in. Now know that we have been free and you know that you have been free from Python when you go public and you’re not ashamed of Jesus anymore and you want everybody to know it.

I want you to raise your hand over this building right now, raise them up now the Holy Spirit is here. He said son I want you to give a virgin altar call. What does that mean, it’s too late somebody is saying, No its not. Starting tonight, I’m going to be free my body is not going to be controlled by Python. Some of you, you’ve lost your praise, you’ve lost the breath, you’ve lost the spirit. God wants to breathe on you again tonight. And when you leave this place you going to leave here praying in tongue as the spirit gives you the utterance you’re going to get your breathe back. With every head bowed, every eye close, I want you to stand in your feet.

 

You know what I feel like God is going to do. He’s going to clean some of you up. He’s going to untie areas of your life that Python already beginning to bind you up in. Some of you are going to have to go home and get rid of some of the musical pornography. Some of you going to have to go get rid of some things in your life and you can’t do it on your own but His power is going to break tonight. With your heads bowed and your eyes closed, if you take Pastor Franklin, that’s me, I’m not going to play God games anymore, I want to give Him everything, I want Python to break. I want to breathe again.

 

 

 

Pray for me. If that’s you raise up your hand, be honest all over this building their going up all over up in the top balcony raise Him high. I want every one of you that have raise your hand to get out from where you are. I don’t care if you’re at the top seat. I’m going to wait on you, I want you to get out from what you are and I want you to feel this whole alter section. The Holy Ghost is fixing the fall in these altar in the mighty way. I sense it in my spirit. And I want you to come.

 

If you backslider, if you don’t know what your stand with God. If the Python has got you, you want your mind to get loose. Some of you are bound to memory. Some of you need to answer the virgin altar call. You can’t go back in change the past but starting tonight, some of you are in wrong relationships and the devil has got you wrapped up. Dating somebody that’s not even a Christian and the devil has got you wrapped up, and you know you’re already compromising doing things that you know you shouldn’t be doing. The Lords going to loose you and you going to be back and you going to have the boldness you going to be like Paul and Silas that said, “I want everybody to know, I want all my friends to know, I want all the people I'm parted, I’m not the same person.

 

We’re going to pray this prayer. We’re going to pray this prayer and when we pray it Python is going to loose you. How many of you believe this message is for you tonight. It is for you tonight or it was for somebody out there. It is for you tonight.

Father in Jesus name I come to you tonight and I give you my body. I give you my mind. I give you my eternal spirit. From this night forward I belong to you. I’ll clean my life up. I know the music that I’ve been listening to that grieves your spirit. I know the movies that I’ve been looking at and that grieve your spirit. I know the people that I have been entangled with and I’m not strong enough that is grieving your spirit. So tonight I lay it down, tonight I want my breath back. Tonight I want to raise my hands and not feel dirty anymore. And I feel like I’m not bound anymore. Would you please breath on me one more time would you please touch me one more time. Would you please loose me from Python one more time? I want to breathe again.

I want to share this simple little message today about the secret to walking with God. All God ever wanted from you is for you to walk with Him. He is not interested in a Sunday morning relationship. He wants a daily walk with you. That is why in the book of Genesis it says that God came down in the cool of the day. They heard the sound of God walking through the garden coming to walk with Adam and Eve in the cool of the day. That is how He started. He made us because he wanted a daily walk with us.
 

If we are not careful.. we become so experience oriented that we become relationship minimized. That it’s all about what happens on Sunday and we forget that God wants relationship with us not just mountain top experiences. That is why Isaiah said that if you wait on the Lord you’ll mount with wings of eagles. You’ll run and not be weary and then you walk.

It’s wonderful when you soar when you are in one of those seasons when you’re mounting up with wings of eagles and everything is going on your way and you are soaring. And any and everybody love to soar. Then there are those seasons when you’re running, you’re running with the fish and you’re busy and everybody is cheering.

You know people cheers runner, people salute runners. You watch the Olympics and they come in to the coliseum when they’re carrying the torch and everybody is cheering the runners but nobody cheers walkers. It’s not exciting. It’s not a big deal when you see a walker. You are saying, now I maybe saying they are not precious in your citizen. Granny might put on her white tennis shoes on and she’ll go to walk in to the mall, she is exercising. But you never see any grand stands’ buy cheek fillet and people clapping and saying at that girl, “Go get them granny”.

Nobody cheers walkers. We cheer runners. We cheer soarers, people who fly, but we don’t cheer walkers but why does granny walk? It is because she got an appointment with a man that is going to check the condition of her heart. And nobody knows whether she is walking or not but the man that checks the condition of her heart. And if she’s been walking everyday it will show up by the condition of her heart when that doctor has that appointment. And one day every one of us has an appointment with God and He is not going to be interested in what you did in the soaring time when everything is good. But what happen on Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday, and Thursday. Did you walk with God? It is because if you walk with God it affects the condition of your heart. It’s not about a Sunday experience folks. It is not about coming to church. It is about what happens after these experiences. Do you walk with him? Do you talk with him? Is He the vital part of your family, of your life, of the very atmosphere of who you are and what you’re about? Nobody will know if you’re walking with God, but God on that day.

 

◑1. I want to say it’s important to walk with God. ↑

◑2. Satan hates when you walk with God. ↓

He will do everything he can. He does not get disturbed if you got a blessing on Sunday and you go high and you run for a little season and then you get weary. But the deal that really bothers the enemy is when he sees someone putting one foot in front of the other day after day. Whatever hits them, they just keep walking by faith not by sight. They are walking, praying, reading that word, and walking with God. Satan hates that. He hates it. The devil would love to stop your walk with God.

So how does he do that?

Peter Jenkins wrote a book in 1973 called <A Walk across America> and it became a bestseller because he had an unbelievable experience. He walked five thousand miles all the way across America. He works jobs, it took him five years to do it, he carried a 70 pound bag pack and he walked throught the Appalachian trail. He walked through the New Orleans and West Texas. And he walks through Rocky Mountains, he walk through blizzards he went through the heat in a 120 degrees in the desert. He was attacked by animals he was attacked by dogs. He was bitten by snakes, he walked and was hit by a car. His dog that was with him was run over by a car. He was mugged one time, he was stabbed one time. He was cheated, he was everything. You name it this guy went through it. And they ask him this question, "What in all of the experiences, a 120 degrees, blizzard, on the other side of that extreme and all kind of things that came against him, “What was the greatest thing that made you come closes to giving up and stopping your walk?” (You know what he said? you’re not going to believe it.) "It was <sand> in my shoes."

I thought he would say the car hit me, or when my dog was run over. You know he said, “The thing almost that made me quit was I would get grinded sand in my shoes and some of those places I would walk for weeks and have to camp out. I couldn’t get any more shoes and that sand would grind, that little sand will get in and grinded. It was just a little thing, it wasn’t the big things. It’s wasn’t the huge things. It was just a little grains of sand.

Same is through in our walk with god. It is not the big things, it’s the little thing. It’s not many people that will stop walking with God because they got bad doctor’s report. They are usually they start walking closer. It’s not the big things of we loss this or one of my family member died. Everyone once and a while somebody will get bitter to God but usually it’s not the big things of some huge adultery or some crazy thing. It’s just a little grains of sand that nobody can see that can get in your spiritual shoes.

Pain and hurt that nobody sees, disappointment, discouragement, worry, fear it begins to grind at you. It begins to hinder your work. Its one thing, it’s little, it is no big thing but because it is not that big it begins to affect your walk. It is the little hurts that wear on us. It is the daily worry. And we are so good on putting a plastic face on and when people ask you. "How are you doing?" "I’m doing awesome brother”. But when we see you walking you (groan)..

◑3. Little thing hinders you, not big thing

Anything that affects your walk is important. I don’t care how little it is. The little things, the daily worry, is the little grains of sand. Do you know the power of sand can strip the pain off of your call? The power of sand can hurt and it’s the little temptations, it’s the little hurt, it’s the little things, it’s the little offenses, it’s the little situations that happen to us and they begin to pile up and more and more and more. And that sand begins to grind and it begins to hinder on our walk. It wasn’t the heat. It wasn’t the cold. It was the sand.

The same is through with us the Bible said in Psalms 42:10 listen to David. “He said it was like a sword in my bones” what? “When they would say daily”, that is the key. “They would say daily, where is your God?” I thought you believed your family has gotten saved. Hey is your family gotten saved yet? How many days have you been praying for them? Daily where is your God? Hey I thought you’re going to believe for healing, you’re not healed. Daily where is your God?

It’s not that one time, its daily. When you deal with something and it won’t leave you alone and God doesn’t take it away instantly and it’s just grinding. And people don’t see the private situation because the sand in the shoe is not visible. If it was some big thing then people would know how to help him but many Christians have sand in their shoe and its hindering the walk. And it’s those little things, the little grains, where is your God? Daily they would say where is your God? Why hasn’t it happen? Where is your God?

In that what happen with Samson, he got sand in his shoes. In judges 16:16 the Bible said that Delilah catch it, pressed on him daily. Sleep with me, sleep with me. If that was a onetime affair, that’s one thing, if it was a onetime temptation that was one thing but it was daily. She daily was tempting him. And what happens is you get the sand in your shoes but its temptation. You’re trying to do good, and you’re to be good. And you get that sand and the enemy begins to press you daily. Why don’t you compromise? Why?

It begins to affect your walk. It was Paul was talking about in 2 Corinthians 11:23. When he lists all of the troubles he talks about how that there’s labors. "I got beaten with stripes, (Listen to it) shipwrecked, beaten with rots, stoned, oh it’s awful. Listen perils in the country, in the city," trouble everywhere. Look at it, problem after problem, sleepless, hunger, thirst that is big stuff. But that is not what got him.

Notice what he says. “Beside these other things which came upon me daily, my deep concern, the burden of the church, the burden and sometimes the burdens of life is the daily thing. It’s not some big deal that you’re going to go do something crazy. It’s the daily thing and if you don’t learn how to... Jesus said, “Come unto me if you’re weary”, if you got sand in your shoes if you’re tired, if you’re under pressure, if you’re under stress, if you don’t know what to do and where to turn and you feel like it’s hard to put one foot in front of the other and keep going. It’s that daily thing that the enemy tries to do to destroy us. It’s what happened to Moses in Exodus 18.

In 18th chapter his father said Moses surely you will wear away. The pressure that is on you will cause you to wear yourself out. That’s what the enemy wants to do. He wants to get some sand in our spiritual shoes, some hurt, some disappointment, some fear, some worry, some kind of pressure, that is there daily and he just keeps it in there and it’s begins to hinder our walk. And he(Satan) wears you out. You wear away systematically. He wears you down.

Psalms 73:2 David said, “I finally reached the place as for me my feet were almost gone”. The sand had gotten in my shoes so bad that my feet have almost lost my walk.

 

The Scripture said it’s the little foxes that destroy the vine. It’s not the bear it’s not the lion it’s not the wolves that kills the sheep it’s the little fox that just nibbles and nibbles. And it’s those little things that just begin to get in our walk. Those little things like we just begin to lose our hunger for the word of God. It’s no big deal if I don’t read it, it’s that daily things that needs to happen but it’s no big deal if I don’t have a time of prayer and a place of prayer. I go to church on Sunday but it’s the grains of sand those seemingly little things. I didn’t read the word today, I didn’t pray today and another day and another day and before you know it you got sand in your shoes and it’s hard to walk for the Lord. And it’s hard to walk in faith and it’s hard not to let the fear and the pressure and the worry and the anxiety take you over. What is happening? Why am I feeling insecure? Why am I feeling this way? You’ve got sand in your shoes.

Nothing is little if it affects your walk. So if God wants to walk with you and the devil hates to see you walk with God and the way he stops you is not use the big things. See we reason people fall for the big things is they got sand in their shoes and the little things wear them down and in the moment of weakness they do something crazy. Preach Him better and you’ll let Him known right now.

Have you notice this about sand, it’s almost impossible to get sand off your feet in Nike shoes. We went to the beach not too long ago and Trisha bought me a brand new Nike tennis shoes. I love them they were green. And I love to run and I run it on the beach and I pray while I run as my deal. But I wasn’t paying attention just running along praying and the wave came in. It hit my feet and covered my shoes and it put sands in my shoes. It ruined the shoes. I had tried it and tried to get the sand out of my shoes. It is like sand has a magnetic force that once it gets in there it’s almost impossible to remove it. Have you ever gone to the beach and you try to wash, you know you got shower thing, and you try to wash your foot off. It is like magnet sand just by the time you are washing this one, the other one is filled with sand again. What’s the deal? It’s almost impossible if you ever get sand in your shoes. Hurt, pain, disappointment, worry, fear, discouragement.. you can’t get it off. You can try to get it off and there is nothing you can do that will make it stop.

But here is the deal here is my last point.

◑4. Jesus never designed for you to wash your own feet.

Jesus said you come to me. You bring me all the stuff that is piling up in your life and stressing you out worrying you silly and stealing your sleep and making you wake up in the middle of the night terrified at what your future hold. I want to tell you what, that is not the voice of the Holy Spirit that putting fear on you and putting worry on you about your future. And Jesus is standing with a towel and a water basin and saying is you stressed out and you can’t get rid of it. Bring it to me and let me wash your feet. Are you heavy laden? Do you not know what you are going to do and where you are going to turn? Bring it to me and let me wash your fear away. Let me wash that anxiety, depression. Let me wash it away.

And then all I ask of you, Jesus would say, after I wash you and I wash your feet. Would you have to turn around and find somebody else that is just as stressed and got a lot of sand in their shoes as you have. And you must let them know you can’t quit, you can’t give up. I refuse to let you quit. You are going to stop this walk. You are going to keep walking by faith. So let me wash your feet because I have been there, I have been where you are. Do you hear me right now? God knows where you are. And here is the beauty of the body of Christ. Here is the beauty of the church.

When Jesus washes you, he cleanses your feet and I promise you he can remove the sand the hurt pain of offends, of depression, of anxiety, of torment, of worry, of you know all the stuff that just builds up and starts to bug as down in our walk.

And he says when I do that for you, I’m going to send people your way. And they are in this room today and they are in Orange County in that room and they are listening to me by television all over the world. And some of you have tuned in today and you feel like I can’t take it anymore. I don’t know what I’m going to do. I can’t hardly put one foot in front of the other. And we can out our plastic religious face on but the truth is there are people that are hurting. Their shoes are filled with sand and they don’t know if they can keep going. And all I want to say to you is Jesus is begging you today to bring it to him. Let him wash it.

And then we need to have an old fashion Holy Spirit foot washing in the church when we turn to our brothers and sisters that are struggling. And those of you who have made it through you need to be their foot washer. You need to help them get that sand off that they can’t handle by themselves. You need to be their encourager.

I remember we grew up in an old Pentecostal church and I remember dad use to have an old fashion foot washer. It’s just a little church. I remember I dreaded it because it was nasty. I mean they literally had, they would take one because they wanted to be real spiritual. And finally somebody got the revelation, “Let’s get seven pail of water” but at first we use to just do one. And they would bring out a little bucket of water and the women would leave because the women had to go in their room because we were holy. And the man had to stay in their room. And I remember my dad use to wear what I call preacher-socks. They would come all the way up through here and they were see-through, they lack socks and pants would wear. You know what I’m talking about. He wore some shoes like that too and some suits. He is a preacher, come on.

He would be ashamed of me this morning. But I remember my dad, I remember him sitting on that chair and one by one he would ask to men, because we didn’t have that big church, might have been thirty or forty men there, and he would start their feet and he would start weeping washing their feet. Maybe it’s possible spiritually this morning that there is people all around you that have sand in their feet and we don’t have to have a pail of water. Could it be that spiritually you could get such a burden for somebody beside yourself and you could wash their feet? The feet of that husband that is so stressed out. That wife that just had at her wits in with her kids and homework and cleaning and crazy and schedules and so much stress we carry. And we go through the weekend and we just kind to do church and go right back to that empty life that really doesn’t have the walk with Jesus that we need. And so the sand just keeps building up in our walk. There needs to be some service where we stop everything. We say, “Lord we have to get into your presence”. And then we need to wash one another’s feet spiritually and I don’t know what you are walking through and carrying but I’m telling you we are not going to give up. We are not going to give up. God has hope for you today we walk by faith and not by sight. (2Cor.5:7)

The secret to walking with God is a daily relationship with Jesus Christ. I know many of you are under such tremendous pressure from the things that life can put on us. It can just wear you down and wear you out. That is exactly what our enemy wants. He wants to wear you out and cause you to become depressed and discouraged and to give up. He wants us to have some hurt or some disappointment or some fear or worry in our life that just so waste us down that we have just begin to stumble and fall and kept walking with God. It’s that kind of pressure daily that hinders our walk. But if you will come to him as he is every day he will encourage you to keep on walking he will wash your feet he will release you from those things that just keeps pilling on trying to weigh us down with those heaviness of life.

You can have that kind of peace today. You can have confidence in your walk with God and it begins with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Why don’t you receive Him today? That is why we are here. That is why we preach. I don’t have any other reason to be here except to say to you that Jesus is the answer and He loves you and he died on the cross for you.

Just say Lord Jesus I receive you today as my savior. Wash me. Wash my feet. Wash my life. Cleanse me in your blood. In Jesus name Amen.

The Lost Language / Jentezen Franklin

I want to preach for a few moments today on the danger of losing the language.

The death of a language is not a trivial matter. The demise of the dialect is a terrible, terrible tragedy. Because that dialect represents the culture of the people. There are more raise that are embedded in that language through the words that are like invisible strings of DNA that actually represents the culture of that people. For generations, things have been passed down through the language. When a language is lost, it is such a serious thing because there is no bridge to the past, there is no bridge to the history; there is no bridge to anything that exists on the glories or the mistakes of the people.

You can ask the Baniwa tribe, a remote Amazonian, Indian tribe in the jungles of the Amazon, one of the only tribes that still know how to make, Korey. It’s a poisonous concoction that they place on their arrows. And as it marinades on their arrows they have weapons that can kill a man within seconds because they have passed down this poisonous concoction with their language. They passed it down with their native tongue. But now that language is an endangered language and they are not teaching the next generation how to defend themselves.

You should consider the Piraha tribe that was studied by linguist Daniel Everett. A tribe that rejects the use of outside languages and they are fighting to teach their language to their children. Here is the reason why they will not allow anybody to speak another language in their tribes in the jungle. Because they believe that their language is exclusively what their gods in the spirit world understand and only in the enchantment in their language can get through to the spirit world.

▶Well we are seeing the same threat being imposed in our Christian reality and our Pentecostal reality. It is possible for us and it is possible that there is a threat of a generation being raised that cannot speak the spiritual language that our forefathers spoke. They are speaking out of the two sides of their mouth. They are bilingual but they are speaking Pentecost as a second language. Christianity is a second language and the culture of our time in the language of the culture that we live in is their first language.

Gone is the language of the ancients Abraham, Isaac, Jacob. And like the Baniwa, if we lose our spiritual language, and I’m talking to Pentecostals who understand particularly the power of praying in the spirit, praying as the spirit gives you the utterance. There is a real danger that another generation will come up without the language that God has given us in our prayer closet. This praying in the spirit is powerful. This praying in the spirit is like the poison on the end of our darts that we shoot at Satan and his forces. It is our spiritual warfare and without the language of God, the next generation doesn’t know how to do war like they need to do it.

We speak the language of the crucified Christ. Where is that language? We need to become a fluent in the language of sacrifice and the language and in the dialect of commitment as our first language or we are at risk of rising up a generation that will not experience the victory. In other words, it’s dangerous when they begin to speak half Bible half Oprah. Half word of God and half secular humanism. Half living for Jesus and half living in the world. And when this begins to happen, something precious is lost.

▶In Nehemiah chapter 13, the people had broken the covenant of God. As a result, Jerusalem had been destroyed. The walls were in rubble and there were people that were left there. They were Jewish people who spoke the Hebrew language. But when Nehemiah comes back and he began to rebuild the walls, he notices the children playing in the street and he says they are the children of the Jewish people who had married into other religion. He names them as gods and some of these other religions, and as a result, they were speaking in that native tongue of that nationality and that religion. And he hears these half Hebrew children every now and then saying the Hebrew word but mostly the Hebrew language was the secondary language and the language of the culture had become their first language. And then it made the statement and the Jewish language was gone from that generation.

▶What I’m saying to you is, the 21st century church is in danger of marrying the spirit of this age. And thereby releasing and raising up the generation of children who do not know God as our forefathers knew God. Nor do they know the language of the spirit. Nor do they understand the language of praise. Nor do they understand how to pray and prevail until they pull down strongholds, because this generation says all of that it is not necessary.

We have adopted the language of our culture. We are living in a time when we don’t hear the language of sacrifice. Most of our children don’t even have the thought of giving themselves in going on a missionary trip. They are not even taught that way. It’s not important. That is because we have married the culture that we live in more than we have married ourselves to the word of God and His priorities.

I want you to understand the most common way a language veers towards extinction. It’s a community of people become bilingual and they begin to speak less and less in their native tongue. And when we begin to speak less and less, the language of God, the language of faith in our homes and in our families, the language of Jesus and the blood the language that’s sung in every message of Jesus being the center of our lives. We must not lose that language.

▶Parents, what language are you teaching your children? For in Deuteronomy 6:4 It’s says,

Deut.6:4 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart.

6:7 And thou shall teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

When you lie there and when you rise up. Jesus! Faith! Jesus! You get in the car Jesus! Faith!

Oh you’re a little fanatical aren’t you? Know the cultures are always talking too and that language can take over so I’m going to counteract it with some gospel music, so I’m going to counteract it with some Holy Ghost language, so I’m going to counteract it with some praise. That is why we come to church because we better teach them the language of God. But He said it’s not enough to get the language in church. It’s got to be happening in the home. Every morning, every night, all day. Any chance you get through faith in there, through Jesus in there, through blood in there. I’m praying for you, before you get out of the car, in Jesus name!

My kids tell me all the time, “You are a fanatic, you are crazy. Why can’t you be like other parents?” I don’t want to be like other parents. They’re letting the culture take over. But you know what? They may not know but I’m getting the language in them and by the time they get up on their own. They are going to turn up to than language and say, “Light! Light! Where else could I go? You have the words of life!” (Jn.6:68)

▶Joshua chapter 3 said they rose another generation after them that knew not the Lord. Nor the works which He had done in Israel. When there is an abandonment of teaching the word of God in becoming disciples in our own home. There is the threat of another generation coming up that knows not God nor the things that He has done in Israel. Therefore it is the responsibility of parents and the grandparents to talk about the glory of God. Talk about the how He protected you. Talk about how He saved you. Talk about how you were messed up. Talk about how you started that business with nothing but a dollar and you gave 10 cents of it to the Lord and now you may tell the story. Tell them in the morning, tell them at night time. Teach them the language of faith. Speak it! Proclaim it! Yell it! Shout it! Sing it! Go to church and don’t sit there like a nut on a pickle.

▶Children of Israel marched out into the wilderness. And after a few years, even though God had commanded, “That My mark upon My people will be circumcision.” And He said every child that is 8 days old male child shall be circumcised. And that was a clear commandment but after 20 years in the wilderness they stopped talking about it. They just didn’t bring it up anymore. And anything you don’t talk about, any theology that you don’t talk about will soon be lost.

That is why I have got to talk about the baptism and the Holy Ghost. I have got to teach about speaking in tongues. I have got to teach about anointing. I have got to talk about praying the prayer of faith. I have got to teach about the gifts of spirit because if we don’t teach it and talk about it, it will become extinct.

▶So they had gone out in the wilderness. Before Joshua was to take them over to the Promise Land, the bible said he had to circumcise the whole new generation. What happened? They quit talking about it. And even though they had the Ark of the Covenant which was all about worship, they didn’t have the mark of the covenant on their bodies. I want you to understand that God doesn’t just want this generation to have the Ark of the Covenant. They know how to worship. They know how to clap their hands and raise their hands and be entertained by the music. But He said, “I want the mark of God on their life. I want the mark of sanctification. I want the mark of being different. I want the mark”. There is a clear distinct difference between a real Christian and somebody who lives just like the world. And you can’t just have the Ark of the Covenant, you’ve got to take the mark of the covenant and the mark of the covenant will make you different. You can hang with anybody. You can do if everybody is sleeping around, you can’t sleep around! If everybody asked why? “Because I got the mark of the covenant.” Oh man! I know a language and it’s my first language, not my Sunday religion.

▶Why are you screaming?! Why not?!

Paul said to Timothy in 2Tim.1:5

"When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee,

which grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also."

When I call your great faith the man, “I think of how I first saw it in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and I’m persuaded that it is also in thee.” He said, “You know I saw your grandmother Lois and she has faith! And it got in your mother, and I remember your mother and she had these big tears and she would say, “Faith! Faith! Faith! Faith!” Helping all her life and your mother had the same spirit, she wanted to have Faith! And now, Timothy, she must have been doing that to you because I see the same stuff in you that I saw in your grandmother and in your grandmother. I see something in you that came from yesteryears.

God, I hope our children can get something in them that came from yesteryears. Our spiritual forefathers didn’t live this loosey, goosey, drunk on Friday night and walking up and singing, “Praise God!” Pumping in cigarettes out on them.

Oh common here! We need to see some of that stuff from yesteryear where a man’s words were his bond and if he said id, he’d back it up. And he didn’t have any skeletons in the closet. Married to one wife and no girlfriends on the side.

▶I’m so thankful! Because here is what you got to understand. The next generation will never speak of what we don’t speak because if they don’t ever hear you speak a language, they will never speak a language. The only way another generation speaks a language is that they hear you're speaking. That is why praise is body language. It doesn’t really matter whether you think that it takes all of that. It is body language. And what we are doing is passing it all. When I am a dad, I’ll raise my hands. I’m passing it on to my kids saying, “It’s alright to come to church and give Jesus praise.” What I don’t do and I’m teaching them to just sit there and kind of do religion and church.

Oh common here! You need to teach them how to dance. You need to give service just like we just had. We just let them go, let them dance a little bit. Let’s teach them our praise. Teach them your dance. Teach them that old stuff. Teach them how to bleed the blood. Let them hear you. Let them see you swing anoint with all cost. We will make them all remember that language when the devil comes after the kids. Your kids ought to see you cry. You kids ought to hear you pray. Your kids ought to see you every now and then prevail in the floor. They ought to see you fast. They ought to see you pray.

▶Let your children hear you, each speaking faith, each speaking the language of prayer. Grandma, you can’t afford to lose your passion because your kids are watching.

The bible says, Jesus, He said, “I only speak of those things which I hear my father speak.” And the scripture said that it was so powerful that he taught what he heard what His father speaks to His disciples. And the scripture said, even when they tried to deny the Lord. Either was at a fire warming his hands he said, “I swear I don’t know Jesus.” A woman listened to him and she said these words, “Surely thou are also one of them for thy speech betrayeth they.”

You know what I’m praying for? I’m praying that we’ll preach Jesus so much. Sing Jesus so much. Shout Jesus so much. Faith so full of Jesus that when our kids try to camouflage. When they get out, they get rebuked by the world’s teenagers. We can party and be alright. But you can’t! We can have sex but you can’t because something is in you. Something is on you and your speech betrays you.

Let the world rebuke you. “Get out of our party.” “You don’t belong here.” “You go to Free Chapel.” “Get away.” “I’m scared. Your daddy will start praying.” ”Your mama speaks in tongues. Don’t come to our party!”

Halleluiah! I like this sermon. Anybody hear what I’m saying? My God we better get some of that old stuff back here in the church. It will make you live right. It will make it do right.

This mix language this bilingual Christianity. “I love the Lord but I keep falling to adultery.” ”I love Jesus but you know I like my liquor.” You need to get Jesus as you first language.

If we don’t watch it, the next generation, that language of the praying in the spirit can become extinct. That’s why we need to get desperate. Fill not only us but our children and our children’s children with the anointing and the power of the Holy Spirit. It is the force that will keep them, in this filthy world that we live in, you can live it when the Holy Ghost is in you.

And I’m not about to lose this language. I’m not about to lose the language of faith. I’m not going to let another generation come up and not know who Jesus is. Not know 'about Him' but 'know Him'.

▶Lift your hands up towards heaven open up your mind and verbally begin to cry out to God.

 

Every dad needs to cry out to God. Every mom needs to cry out to God. Every husband, every wife, every teenager. You understand that there is something that the ancients and the forefathers experience that are becoming extinct because nobody is hungering for it. Nobody really wants God to use him in a miraculous way because if He could find somebody, He would do the same today as He did in the past. And even greater things.

God give us a generation of people. Don’t let our language die, the language of God die. As we become married to the culture that we are living in. And all we talk about is money and success, and houses, and cars, and careers and we forget about Jesus! Faith! The word! The Holy Spirit!

Help us Lord. (Stand up on your feet.) Halleluiah!

Lift up your hands towards heaven and praise God with me. You got 30 seconds to use your language to praise him! Use your language to praise God!

Don’t let another generation rise up that knows not God nor His words and His greatness.

We must keep the language of faith alive so we can share our faith with the next generation.
